Historical heritage and modernity

Trnavská univerzita v Trnave was founded in 1635 by Cardinal Peter Pazman with the faculties of theology, philosophy, law and medicine. Rector František Borgia Keri made the institution famous by equipping an observatory, printing house, library and gardens.

Since 2019, the university has received the status of a research university. It is designed to train up to nine thousand students, for whom about three hundred teachers work.

Trnavská univerzita v Trnave is a member of the European University Association (EUA).

The university is equipped with an Information Technology Center, which ensures the high-level use of information and communication technologies to participate in the rationalization of educational, pedagogical, scientific, research, management, information and research activities of the university.
