Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave – a state university, founded in 1937, is one of the most popular technical universities in Europe, is among the top thousand universities in the world. In second place in the Slovak ranking.

The most modern educational institution is based on the two hundred and fifty-year-old academic heritage of the Mining Academy of Banská Štiavnica, where studies are closely linked with practice.

It has been awarded international recognition of the quality of education DS Label, ECTS Label, which significantly increases the value of diplomas.

Formation of the University

Initially, the university opened in Košice as the M.R. Stefanik University of Technology in Košice in 1937 with three faculties.

In 1939, it moved to Bratislava and was renamed the Slovak Technical University with six faculties.

The current name was given in 1991.

University Capabilities

Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave is designed to educate about twenty thousand students with an academic staff of more than one and a half thousand teachers. The university actively implements international student exchange programs and is a member of the European University Association (EUA).
